It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annette Hankins, who left us on January 15, 2025, just days shy of her 87th birthday. Born in Ada, Oklahoma, on January 24, 1938, Annette filled her years with love, laughter, and a passion for life that inspired everyone around her.
Annette spent many years working in retail, particularly in the clothing industry, where she was known for her infectious smile and warm customer service. She made countless friends throughout her career, sharing stories and kindness with everyone she met. She had many hobbies, she loved decorating her home, flower arranging, all things Victorian, to travel, and music. Annette was also a devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Howard Hankins, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who loved her. She is also survived by her son Greg Adams (Tammy Knowles), granddaughter Heather (DJ) Carroll; great-grandchildren Kyllian and Ashlynn Carroll.
Annette will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing her path.
Annette is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cain; parents Lynderman and Lena Heavner; sisters Barbara Heavner, Pauline Bond, and her twin sister Jeanette Myler.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Aztec Church of the Nazarene, 1061 Highway 516 in Aztec, NM with Reverend Ken Weisheit officiating. A reception will follow the service.
