Archie "Butch" Leon Westeman, age 80, gained his wings August 20, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born March 28, 1942, in Kansas to Arch and Iva Westeman.
On August 3, 1963, he married the love of his life Jeanette Herman. They made their home in Aztec, New Mexico where they raised two daughters Anita Marie and Carol Ann.
He worked for El Paso Natural Gas as an operator until his retirement. After retirement Archie enjoyed his small farm raising cows and hay. Archie made an impact on anyone he encountered whether at work or in the community. He will greatly be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by a son (Albert Leon), his parents (Arch and Iva) and a sister (Doris). He is survived by his wife of 59 years Jeanette, his daughters Anita (Jeff) Walker, Carol Ann (Dan) Tabor; five grandchildren Robert Tabor, Mariah (Leo) Serrano, Jacob (Kylie) Tabor, Nathan (Jainasen) Tabor, Brandy (Jordan) Miliam, Jabe Walker (Clara Floyd) and eight great grandchildren. A brother Doug (Beverly) Westeman, sister Juanita Lewis and Marsha (Pete) Monet. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to the ICU staff at SJRMC, other staff at SJRMC who played a role in his care, along with staff at Welbrook Transitional Rehabilitation for the great care provided. We would also like to give a big Thank You to Billy Noland for his continued help in caring for the Westeman Farm.
A viewing will be held Friday August 26, 2022, from 3pm to 5pm at Farmington Funeral Home. There will be a reception to held On August 27, 2022 at 811 McCoy Ave. Aztec, NM. 87410 from 1pm to 4pm.
