Benny was born in El Rito, New Mexico on February 12, 1946, to Jose Abel and Estellita (Hurtado) Jaramillo. He graduated from Chama High School, New Mexico. He was drafted into the Army and stationed in Germany in 1967 – 1969 to which he honorably served his country. Upon coming back to the United States, he met his wife, Doris, and they soon began a loving marriage which spanned 48 years of utter and complete devotion. Together they raised one son and two daughters, Mark, Marie, and Alyssa, with much love and support.
A genuinely self-made man, Benny worked at SO-LO Grocery store for many years. His work there was his life's passion and his spirit and tireless work ethic reflected. After retiring, he worked at Sunray Park & Casino and as a school cross guard, where he enjoyed his duties and made many friends. He always brought a big warm smile, a helping hand, a way of being kind. He was devoted to his family and friends and will always be in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
