Billie Lucille Lee Quick was born in Gainesville, Texas, on January 18, 1947, to William and Lucille Lee. It was there she spent time on her grandfather’s farm, playing outside and learning to drive a tractor. In elementary school, her father was transferred to the Farmington Halliburton Field Office. Billie attended Farmington schools, graduating from Farmington High School in 1965. After graduation, she married and had two children, William and Marsha. Billie worked various jobs in San Juan County, including Nu-Mex, Dresser Atlas, and Britts, just to name a few. In the late 1980s, she moved back to Texas, where she met and married the love of her life, John Quick. They lived and worked in Texas for over 30 years until John’s death in 2016. After his passing, Billie decided to move back to Farmington to be closer to family.
Billie is survived by her son, William Sawyer (Jennifer); her daughter, Marsha Peter (Arnold); her grandchildren, Iliana Finken (Jacob), McKenzey Peter (Ryan), Zeely Bustamante (Ben), and Blaze Sawyer; and her great-grandchildren, Leonard and Gabriel Finken. She is also survived by her sister, Maeona Dove (Zoop); her nephew, Cody Dove; her niece, Casey Dove; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Kathleen Quick; and her dear friend, Pat Rogers.
