Calvin (Bud) Daniel Thrasher age 71 of Aztec, New Mexico passed from this life on November 17, 2021. He was born in Matador, Texas to Bettie Ruth Gilbert Thrasher and Harold Thrasher. Bud received his GED and attended Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo, TX. He received a certificate as a diesel mechanic and went on to work as a Field Service Technician for El Paso Natural Gas in Texas, New Mexico and Kansas and then Wiltech for about 2 years. Later he was hired to work for Williams Field Services and retired with them in 2016. Bud's hobbies included hunting, fishing and welding. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aztec and greeted guests there for many years. He enjoyed interacting with his grandkids and spoiling them.
Bud is preceded in death by his grandparents Edwin and Naomi Gilbert and Pearl and Claude Thrasher, his parents Bettie and Harold Thrasher, as well as his brother James (Pork) Thrasher. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Thrasher and their two sons Daniel Thrasher and Craig (Christina) Thrasher as well as his two sisters Debbie (Lonnie) Cagle of Flomot, Tx and Patty (James Lynn) Kimbell of Turkey, Tx and his four grandchildren, Kaylee Thrasher, Hope Thrasher, Kenzie Thrasher and Logan Thrasher.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 3,2021 at 11:00am at the Aztec First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or convoyofhope.com
