Candace Spangler

Candace (Bloomfield) Spangler of Bloomfield, NM, passed away quietly and unexpectedly in her home Sunday, August 28, 2022. Candace was born in Farmington, NM on Jan 11, 1947 to Rosemary (Miller) Bloomfield and Don C. Bloomfield. Don, a WWII POW, died six weeks before Candace was born. Rosemary later married John M. Kutch who became a great father figure to Candace as she and Gerald raised their children. She is survived by her mother Rosemary (who will be turning 100 this fall), her husband Gerald D. Spangler, their six children, Tammy R. Davis (Darryl), Kim C. Leonard (Norman, deceased), Jeff D. Spangler, Stephanie (Bench), Eli J. Spangler (Corinne Bischoff), Marna D. Sewell (Erik), Jessica A. Zech (Derrick), 20 grandchildren, 2, soon to be 4, great-grandchildren, her brother James Gregory (LaVoi) Bloomfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. Candy and Jerry have enjoyed 57 years of marriage in this life and will continue to be married eternally. They were married on July 16, 1965, and were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mesa, AZ Temple on January 6, 1969. Candace was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in multiple leadership roles that helped to strengthen young women and mentor future women leaders. She truly dedicated her life to serving others. Candy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Candace is also predeceased by her grandparents, Alexander F. Bloomfield, Nina (Bond), James B. Miller, Jessie B. (Snow), John M. Kutch (stepfather), and Maggie Zech (granddaughter).

Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (902 W. Blanco Blvd., Bloomfield, NM). Viewing open to friends and family at 9:00 am, Family Meeting 10:30 am, Funeral 11:00 am. Interment at Hammond Cemetery immediately afterward.
