Carol Marie Maddux, 81, of Farmington, died on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. She was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Wausau, Wisc. the daughter of Adolph and Mabel Larson.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her career began at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, continued at other hospitals, including Good Samaritan in Phoenix as a head medical/surgical nurse. She worked for Dr. John Cahill as an office nurse for two years and finished her almost 30-year career at Doctors Hospital in Phoenix. In Farmington, she served at SJRMC as an Auxiliary volunteer for 10 years. She was a life-long Lutheran and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Farmington.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Billy P. Maddux; her parents and a brother, Robert Larson, two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and a great nephew. She is survived by a sister, Joan R. Vilven; nieces, Susan, Sharon, Ellen, and Mary; nephews, Steven and Andy; and ten great-nieces, Jovan, Alana, Julianne, Jessica, Jennifer, Angela, Elizabeth, Alicia, Emily and Bailey; three great-nephews, William, David and Zachary; two great-great nieces, Miranda and Beatrice, as well as cousins.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at Zion Lutheran Church, 7455 Foothills Drive in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran or your choice.
