Carrie Ruth Elkins, 93 of Farmington, passed away October 20, 2018. She was born March 16, 1925 in Levelland, TX to Hulon Leslie Clark and Mary Lydia Baldwin.

Carrie Ruth Elkins (Nanny) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family on October 20, 2018. She was loved and cherished by many and will be greatly missed. She was in West Texas during the Dust Bowl and lived through the Great Depression. She had a strong will and determination along with a kind and loving heart. She never knew a stranger and had many friends she loved. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Family was the center of her life. She loved and respected her church and church family. Her family moved here to Farmington in 1956. She had many hobbies but gardening and ceramics were her favorites. Her absence will truly be missed by all, but our memories of her will last our lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband E.E (Shorty) Elkins; great grandson TJ George; parents Hulon Lesli Clark and Mary Lydia Clark; brothers John Clark, David Clark, and Leslie Clark; sisters Ruby George, Jennie-etta Shannon, Oleta Stubbs, and Beulah Cassity.

Carrie is survived by her daughter Brenda Joyce Archuleta; sister Peggy Daugherty; grandchildren Gayle Brescia (Sam), Sherri Archuleta, and Jerry Archuleta (Monica); great grandchildren Damian George (Titia), Keith Archuleta, Chris Archuleta, Ricky Joe Gregory (Holly), and Roland Gregory; great-great grandchildren Gage George, Kadance Gregory, Cesar Gregory, and Marissa George.

There will be a funeral service for Carrie at 10:00am on October 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Farmington with Keith Berryman officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Archuleta, Damian George, Chris Archuleta, Sam Brescia, Keith Archuleta and Doug Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Gage George, Titia George, and Marissa George. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be a reception at 2:00pm following the interment at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
