Carrie M. Siegel

January 1, 1957 — August 2, 2024

Farmington

In our sorrow and joy, we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Carrie May Siegel, on August 2, 2024, at the age of 67.

Born on January 1, 1957, in Cortez, Colorado to Darrell and Donnie McKay. She met the love of her life, Craig Siegel, in Farmington, New Mexico, and they were married for 48 years.

She graduated from Farmington High School Class of 1975, where she was the President of the Deca club. She worked at Browns Shoe Fit, Citizens Bank, and was the co-owner of Mister Muffler for 17 years.

Carrie loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent bowler and an avid motorcyclist and member of the Christian Motorcycle Association for almost 30 years. She had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden, which was always in full bloom. Her kindness, compassion, sharp wit and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Carrie was strong in her faith and was a member at the LaPlata Valley and First Baptist Church, before returning to LaPlata as the Pastors wife. She served in many positions through the years and served on mission trips to Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize and Egypt.

Carrie is survived by her husband, Craig Siegel; her children Lisa Chavez and Steven Siegel; her grandchildren Kayson Chavez, Carter Chavez, and Jordan Knowlton; and her sister Cindy McKay. Her sister Donna McKay preceded her in passing.

The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at LaPlata Valley Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, Carrie requested that donations be made to the Christian Motorcycle Association Run for the Son.

Carrie will be deeply missed and forever remembered. She is in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
