Charlene Jackson

Charlene Patricia Jackson passed from this mortal life on October 30, 2022, at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Charlene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. Her sense of humor and intensity of spirit will be greatly missed.

She was born on December 17, 1944, in Fairbury Nebraska to her parents Charles and Maxine Fouch. Charlene was proceeded in death by her parents, (Charles and Maxine), sister (Phyllis Jean Chavez), and granddaughter (Elizabeth Jane).

Admired and loved for her tenacious spirit, Charlene will be missed by many none more so than the love of her life and husband of 62 years David Jackson. Charlene is also survived by her son Donnie (Hazel) Jackson; her daughter Dawnette (Sean) Washburn, and three grandchildren; Bryce Washburn, McKenzie (Logan) Ashcroft, and Lexie Jackson. She is also survived by siblings; Donald Fouch, Bill Fouch, Pam Singleton, Lyle Fouch, Forrest (Linda) Fouch, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was a dedicated and hard worker throughout her life. She attacked every pursuit from firing and painting ceramics to silk flower arranging, and sewing, in her younger days she was a top-notch bowler, with a drive and tenaciousness that was unparalleled. For many years she was the do-all be-all for the High Country Barrell Racing Association. Most of her life and energy were dedicated to caring for and taking care of her husband and children. Charlene was a fierce protector of her family and loved them all deeply even with their quirks and faults.

Charlene was plagued with many health issues throughout her life, but none diminished her toughness and fighting spirit, this was never more evident than in the last few years of her time on this earth. Each and every minute of this time was a battle for breath and a journey through pain, but she faced it and fought through it.

Charlene will lovingly be remembered by many for her tenacity, toughness, and fighting spirit. You will never be forgotten and loved always and forever.

A memorial service will be held on December 17, 2022, at 11:00 am at Crossroads Community Church, Farmington, NM.
