Charles Wilcox

Charles M. Wilcox Jr. (aka “BoBo” or “Chuck”) passed September 21, 2019. He was born July 15, 1942 in Bloomfield NM, to Charles and Sylvia (Sategna) Wilcox. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1960, and has lived in Bloomfield NM for over thirty years. He worked as an Ironworker on the San Juan Power Plant and later would work and retire from San Juan County, in 2016. Charles was a lifetime member of the BPO Elks #1747 Farmington Lodge for 37 years (1982-2019). He was never afraid of hard work and or living life. He enjoyed deer hunting, camping, dancing, and making people laugh. He met the love of his life on a dance floor. Their first dance was to the song “Could I have this Dance for the Rest of My Life” and they have been two-steppin through life together since. He was well known for how protective and fiercely loyal he was, by his friends and family.

Some of our greatest memories were when the family would go camping on the top of the LaPlata's; open fire, steaks, biscuits, fried potatoes with buttered, Wolf Creek mushrooms, and one mean mosquito or when he would act like he didn’t like “Peanut”, his dog, in the beginning, but all in all, in the end, they became best of friends or when he would show his dry sense of humor and only a few would get it. All of the memories made will be cherished and protected by our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia C. (Sategna) Wilcox, father Charles “Curley” Wilcox, and his sister Diane (Wilcox) Justis, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wilcox, his children, Tiffany Keaton (Stephen), Cathy Schweer (Jim), and Craig Wilcox. His grandchildren Thomas Keaton, Whitney Keaton, Alexander Keaton, Nichole Daniels (Royce), Emberlee Schweer, Nate Schweer, and ten great-grandchildren. He will be forever missed, especially for his guidance, wisdom, and his special kind of humor.

The family would like to thank our friends, neighbors, and family for the many phone calls, condolences, loving acts, and emotional support.

A special thank you to all of the ICU nurses, doctors, and staff for their wonderful care and support. We would like to acknowledge Farmington Funeral Home, Vince and Helen Ferrari, for the effort made in guiding the family through this most sorrowful time.

Thank you for being a wonderful husband, a great dad, brother, and friend. Until we meet again, thank you for sharing your love and life with us.
