With deep sorrow and hearts full of gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved Christine Romero, who was called home to be with the Lord on February 27th, 2025, at the age of 69. A devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, Chris lived her life in service to God and others, leaving behind a profound legacy of faith, love, and compassion.
Born on July 17th, 1955, in Belen, NM, Chris was the daughter of Clovis and Magdelena Flores. From an early age, she embraced her Christian faith and lived a life that exemplified the teachings of Jesus Christ. She was a woman of prayer, strength, and grace, whose life reflected her deep devotion to her Savior.
Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and wife. Her love and care for her loved ones were a testament to her deep faith and her belief in God’s love for us all. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Pat Coker; sons, Donny and Anthony Romero; as well as her grandchildren and siblings.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albino, Lupe, Desi, and Pete Flores; and sister, Rachel Saiz. She is survived by her husband, Pat Coker; sons, Gerald (Donny) and Anthony Romero; brother, Paul Flores; and sisters, Peggy Candelaria, Lucy Sanchez, and Molly Jacobs; grandchildren, Damian, Daegan, Gemma, Brock, and Benny; and many nieces and nephews. While we grieve her loss, we find comfort in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Heavenly Father, reunited with those who went before her, and at peace in His eternal embrace.
A service of celebration and thanksgiving for Chris's life will be held at Crossroads Community Church on March 4th at 12:30 p.m. The family welcomes all who would like to join in honoring her memory.
As we say goodbye to our dear Chris, we hold on to the words of Scripture that remind us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). Though our hearts ache, we rejoice knowing that she is now with the Savior she loved and served so faithfully.
