Clarence Morey “Bud” Nollsch, 81, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, in Farmington. He was born June 28, 1936, in Scottsbluff, Neb. to Phillip Edward Nollsch and Ethel Huffman Nollsch.

Clarence arrived in Farmington in 1951, when his father, Phil, accepted a position as Parts Department Manager at Farmington Motor Company on Main Street downtown. The Ford Dealership is now Ziems Motor Company.

Clarence was an accomplished Alto Saxophonist. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and traveled with the group to Havana, Cuba. He graduated with the Farmington High School Class of 1954. In later years, while residing in California, he built his own Single Engine Luscombe Airplane, and flew to Farmington, giving his sister, Jean and her husband Tom flights around the area. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft Co. in Long Beach, CA. from 1965 to 1967, at the same time Rosie the Riveter was still working there.

Clarence was very creative and became a master machinist working for Fansteel Metallurgical Corp. in Torrance, Calif. from 1967 to 1968, and Spun Metals in Phoenix from 1983 until he retired in 1991. At the age of 40, he formed his own refuse equipment company, Cubic Container of Arizona, until 1983. His very first job out of high school was with EPNG at the Kirtland plant.

Clarence returned to this area in 2005, with his wife Ann.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wives, Janiece Nollsch and Pat Nollsch; his father, Philip E. Nollsch, died on Clarence’s 70th birthday, June 28, 2006, at the age of 94; his mother, Ethel Huffman Nollsch died in 1975 at the age of 62; grandparents, Walter and Lou Etta Huffman, Gustave and Mabel Morey Nollsch; grandson, James Warren Lennartson. He is survived by his wife, Ann Franks Nollsch; sons, Hal Morey Nollsch (Sandy) and Donald Ray “Butch” Nollsch; daughters, Debra Jo Nollsch Starcher (Sam), Cynthia Ann Nollsch Lennartson (Wade); sister, Phyllis Jean Nollsch Weaver (Tom); grandchildren, Ryan Forrest Nollsch, Cheralyn Potts and Jordan Lennartson; great-grandchildren, Hunter James Nollsch, Dylan Forrest Nollsch, Marley Grace Nollsch, Daphne Micelle Potts and Lyla Joy Potts; and step-children, Elizabeth Peterson, Darla Fay Bropst, Darren Denny and Shawnee Shilling.

Clarence requested no services. A family gathering is planned.
