Clifford Dewane Blassingame

Clifford Dewane Blassingame, age 67 passed away on November 15, 2024, in La Plata, NM. He was born on April 1, 1957, in Farmington NM to Charles A. Blassingame and Tennie E Short Blassingame in Farmington NM.

Cliff spent the majority of his life in La Plata, NM. He graduated from Farmington High School where he participated in the 4H Club. On August 25, 2000 he married the love of his life and best friend, Dawn Olds, at the Little Red School House in La Plata, NM.

Cliff enjoyed restoring classic vehicles, camping, boating, and 4 wheeling. He and Dawn spent many summer weekends with friends on their houseboat at Navajo Lake. He also enjoyed landscaping his yard. He loved music and developed a talent for playing any instrument with strings.

Cliff never met a stranger and maintained lifelong friendships. He loved telling jokes and playing pranks on his family and friends.

Cliff spent much of his working years as a compressor mechanic in the oilfield. Later in life he started a new career working for M&R trucking as an over-the-road truck driver. He retired in May 2024.

Cliff is preceded in death by his grandparents James and Ida Blassingame and Frank and Elizabeth Short, his parents Charles A. Blassingame and Tennie E. Short Blassingame, His sister Wanda Troxell and his Nieces Tiffani Kennon, Ami Click and Morgan Hightower.

Cliff is Survived by his Wife Dawn Olds Blassingame, his Daughter Dijon Garcia (Moses), his brothers Charles Blassingame (Frieda) and Tillman Blassingame, his sisters Brenda Keith (Raymond), Peggy Dallas and Linda Quinn (John) his Grandson Justyn Garcia and Great-grandson Jaxon Garcia and Many nieces and nephews who were loved dearly. Fur Babies: Cliff had a love for animals and his fur babies Chloe, Bentley, Annie, and Thomas will miss him.

Services will be held at the Little Red Schoolhouse in La Plata, NM at 1438 NM Highway 170
