Cody Curley Padilla

In loving memory, we pay respect to Cody Curley Padilla. His loving parents, Curtis Curley Padilla and Roberta Padilla along with family and friends around the world will forever remember this amazing man.

Cody was born early on the snowy morning of January 5, 1987, in Shiprock NM. He was given his Navajo name by his Maternal Grandfather. His father named him after Hall of Fame Bull Rider, Co-founder, and Vice President of Professional Bull Riders (PBR), Cody Lambert.

Cody was Salt Clan; Born for Mountain Cove. His Maternal Grandfather: Bitter Water and Paternal Grandfather: Sleep Rock People Clan.

Cody was born into a family who loved him deeply. They encouraged him to search and find his gifts and passions. As a very small child he was curious, compassionate, and humble. 

Cody began playing sports as soon as he could join a team, playing Soccer, T-Ball, Basketball, and football. In Junior High he attended Kirkland School where he went on to play Basketball, Baseball, and his passion, Football. Cody attended Rocinante High School graduating in 2007. 

Cody had many interests and outlets for his gifts. He played guitar, sang, and was an amazing artist, and cook. He would also make it a point of checking on his friends and family. If anyone fell on hard times he would lend a helping hand. At the same time, he was a protector of those he loved. 

Cody was raised on a Ranch where he also learned about managing and raising livestock. His parents taught him about Rodeo from a very young age. He also was very active in his family’s business. His desire was to work as a Rodeo Clown. His adventurous spirit made him a natural. 

He is preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents: Roger and Betty Platero and Paternal Grandparents: Tony Curley Padilla and Alice Padilla.

Cody’s life as an adult took him on many adventures. He traveled many places and made friends wherever he traveled. His beautiful smile, heartfelt laugh, an sense of humor drew people to him.

Cody passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on October 11, 2024. 

A viewing will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Farmington Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Farmington Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery following the service. A reception to follow at Mcgee Park.
