Cynthia Gunnell

Cynthia Louise Gunnell, 62, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on October 9, 2021.

Cynthia was born on December 8, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents George A and Myrna R. France.

Cindy graduated from Farmington High School in 1977, where she met Eric, the love of her life. They were married in 1978 and have raised two beautiful daughters. She was a volunteer at Swinburne Elementary and later moved on to work at Pancake Alley, TJ’s Diner, Jean’s Café, and Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she built many beautiful and lasting friendships. She loved spending time with her family, all her fur babies including Ozzy and Chewy and enjoying Hallmark movies. She would sway to the music of George Strait or jam it out to Usher. She loved feeding and watching the hummingbirds with her husband each year. She loved car rides to Durango and visiting Honeyville. She loved the Easter picnic with the whole family, watching the fireworks and blowing up trashcans on the Fourth of July, picking pumpkins for Halloween, signing the family tablecloth at Thanksgiving, and hanging lights and celebrating Christmas as early and for as long as she could. She loved going to the Festival of Trees and the annual Christmas parade. She would have had Christmas run the whole year long if we would have let her. Mom you are the sun to our day and the stars to our night. Your infectious laugh and smile is so greatly missed. We know you are in peace and watching us from above. You truly are our best friend.

We are very thankful and blessed for all of our family and friends, especially to her special angels, who have helped, reached out, and who have loved her like we did.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later time, and we will announce the date and time when it is determined.

We would like to thank San Juan Regional and San Juan Genesis for their care during our moms stay. A very special thank you to Carmen and the Farmington Funeral Home for their amazing, personal, and heartfelt help with our mom’s arrangements.
