Danny Kennedy, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, partner, friend, and mentor, passed away on June 14, 2024, due to heart failure. He was known for his compassionate heart, outgoing personality, sharp intelligence, unwavering persistence, and exceptional skills as an equipment operator.
Danny grew up on his parents' farm in Farmington, NM, where his energetic nature and competitive spirit shone through. He constantly strived to outdo his father and brother in their tasks and chores, often turning mundane activities like bucking hay or setting pipe into a competition.
Danny dedicated most of his life to the oilfield, excelling in various roles such as roustabout, pumper, and superintendent. His remarkable ability to operate any piece of equipment or vehicle, whether wheeled or tracked, earned him admiration and respect throughout his career. Danny's infectious enthusiasm and innovative spirit made work enjoyable for everyone around him. He often invented games like "shovel golf" and "rings" to entertain his crew while waiting on job sites.
Danny's presence always lit up a room. His exciting and interesting personality made him a memorable figure wherever he went. He had a unique way of breaking down social barriers by intentionally making new acquaintances feel uncomfortable at first, encouraging them to let loose and enjoy themselves.
Danny's greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his parents, Dan and Vickie Kennedy; his brother, Travis Kennedy; his partner, Katherine Clark; his children, Cory, Tyler, Trevor, Tayden, and Danni Kennedy; and his grandchildren, Coen and Awen Kennedy. He instilled in his children essential life skills, teaching them how to ride dirt bikes, rappel, shoot guns, work, and, most importantly, never give up. His inspirational nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Danny's generosity knew no bounds. He would selflessly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His compassionate spirit extended even to those he had never met, making him a truly remarkable individual.
Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues.
