In Loving Memory of David Michael Brown

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Michael Brown, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Born on October 4, 1991, in Durango, CO at Mercy Hospital. David's journey in this world sadly came to an end on September 11, 2023, in Durango, CO.

David, a talented cook, loved working at Junction Creek in Durango. With his passion for culinary arts, he brought joy and comfort to countless individuals through his delicious creations. He loved to care for and listen to the stories of the residents. David always felt that he had found his way to give back to the community. As a selfless individual, he found immense satisfaction in helping others and brought a ray of sunshine into their lives during their most challenging times.

Growing up in Bloomfield, NM, David was a proud Bobcat and had a love for the outdoors. He found solace and peace in exploring nature, divulging in its beauty, and breathing in the fresh mountain air. His gentle spirit and unwavering kindness extended not just to humans but also to his furry companions. David had a special bond with his dogs, and they were a constant source of love and companionship throughout his life.

David is preceded in death by his father, Darrell Brown, and his grandparents, James Brown, Cecilia and Jose Serna.

David is survived by his loving mother, Margaret Brown, his devoted sister, Rachel (Travis) Rusk, and his grandmother, Rebeckah Brown. Their loss is immeasurable, and the memory of David's warm heart and infectious laughter will forever be etched in their hearts.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate David's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Sept. 21, 2023, at Crossroads Church, located at 2400 N. Butler Ave., Farmington, NM. A reception will immediately follow David's memorial service.

While we mourn the loss of David, let us also rejoice in the memories we shared, the laughter we echoed, and the love we experienced in his presence. Let us remember the incredible person he was, the light he brought into our lives, and the positive impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

David Michael Brown will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us to be kind, compassionate, and live life to the fullest. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find solace in the cherished memories that will forever bond us.
