David Hawkins

David Michael Hawkins passed away unexpectedly on May 4th, 2023 in Aztec, NM at the age of 63.

Dave is survived by his mother, Marianne Hawkins of Aztec, NM; daughters, Brandy Sabo (Greg) of Farmington, NM, and Cassandra Rivas (Eric) of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Gaige Sabo, Addison Sabo, Cash Rivas, Alyse Rivas, Kami Rivas, and Jocelyn Rivas; and brother Robert Hawkins (Doreen)of Kirtland, NM.

David was born on April 28, 1960 in Boulder, CO to Robert and Marianne Hawkins. David graduated from Farmington High School in 1978 and married Renee McDaniel, his high school sweetheart in 1979. Dave began working for PNM in 1981 as a Chemical Plant Operator for over 19 years. Soon after, the couple welcomed their first of two wonderful daughters into their home.

David and business partner, Bill Woodard started DB Technologies and continue to operate for over 20 years,specializing in telecommunications / fiber optic design and engineering, installation, and maintenance.

Dave’s children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, selfless and loving father who put his family as priority over anything else in life.

Dave was passionate about spending time with family, boating on the lake, fishing, and hunting. Dave was a generous, witty, and dedicated son, father, grandfather, brother, and CEO who loved life.
