Bloomfield

Diana “Nini” (Garcia) Jacquez
4/17/1948-12/20/2022 Nini, 74 went home to God's Kingdom on December 20, 2022. We are heartbroken by her unexpected departure but we know in our hearts that there is many people awaiting her arrival in Heaven.
She was born in Tapacitas, NM in 1948. She was raised in Chama, NM by her mother with her older brother, younger sister and two younger brothers. They moved as a family to Farmington, NM in 1967. Where she graduated high school. She worked many different jobs in the area and later married David Jacquez and they welcomed their son, Nathaniel in 1982. They raised their son in Blanco, NM on the farm where she later found her love for teaching. She was a teacher’s assistant for many years and later went back to school and received her Bachelor’s in elementary education in 2000. She taught at Blanco Elementary for close to 30 years. She loved educating youth. She retired from Blanco Elementary. She missed working with kids so much she worked part-time at Love the Children Daycare for close to 10 years. Children of all ages were always drawn to her, they absolutely loved her.
She also had many hobbies through her life, which included traveling, cooking, baking, and quilting. Her most loved and cherished moments were being the biggest cheerleader for her family. She loved watching her grandkids, great nieces, great nephews, and friend’s kids at any sport/event.
She is survived, by her son, Nathaniel Jacquez and her grandsons Isaiah and Evan Jacquez. Her brother Andy (Jeanie) Garcia, her sister-in-law, Kathryn Rivera, and brother, Robert Valdez. Her best friend, Elida Perry. Countless nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Garcia; sister & brother-in-law, Frances & Dale Halvorson; brother, Daniel Rivera. We will all miss her dearly. She was one-of-a-kind. She never knew a stranger she would have endless conversations with random people. She was very spiritual and loved God and loved having conversations about him and the Bible to anyone that would listen. She was a deep thinker, so funny, and loved life but also had a feisty side that we all loved. All that had the chance to know her loved her.
Diana’s care is entrusted to Farmington Funeral Home.
