Donna Lanier

Donna Mae McGaha Lanier of Farmington, NM was called home by her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ November 3, 2021 with her family by her side. Donna was born on July 20, 1953 in Farmington to Charles W. & Leah R. McGaha.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, brother Calvin McGaha, daughter Rachel Lanier, grandson Joshua Lanier, and nephew Daniel McGaha.

Donna is survived by her husband Harry “Tom” Lanier, daughter Karrie Clark (Mark Browder), granddaughter Leah Tso (Brandon Sewell), great-granddaughters Lydia & Charlee, grandson Brandon Tso; son Christopher Lanier, granddaughter Jocelyn Lanier, grandson Micah Lanier; grandson Jourdan Lanier, great-granddaughter Cecily, great-grandson Jayce; grandson Jaydoun Williams (Amber), great-grandson Amari, great-granddaughter Araceli, great-grandson Jaydoun; grandson Jeremiah Lanier, great-granddaughter Monacella; grandson Justin Lloyd; brothers Charles McGaha, Ben McGaha, and Art (Lora) McGaha; numerous nieces, great-nieces & nephews.

After graduating from high school in 1971, Donna worked for B.F. Walker with her dad to earn money for college. She attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. This is where she met her best friend Janet Johnson and her husband of 43 ½ years. In the Fall of 1977, they moved back to Farmington where they settled down and began a family. Donna was a well respected and loved member of the community. Donna coached many baseball, softball, volleyball and basketball teams for her 3 kids and her grandkids. She served as PTA President at Bluffview Elementary, kept score for the summer softball league and men’s basketball league. Donna coached and played sports in Farmington for over 40 years and during those years touched many lives. Donna was also very involved in church, attending Grace Baptist Church since she was 13. She never knew a stranger and demonstrated her love for Christ and her family daily. Once she was unable to coach or play sports anymore, she enjoyed her great-grandbabies and loved nothing more than to watch them play and laugh.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church at 12:00 pm with interment following at Memory Gardens.
