It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Doral Dean “Dody” Sullivan, born on March 4, 1933, in San Carlos, Arizona, at the Apache Hospital. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, family, friends, and countless cherished memories.
Doral is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bruce Sullivan, and her son, Danny Sullivan. Dody was raised by her mother Fern Smith and stepfather, Wilson Lyle "Smitty" Smith. During her youth, she met the love of her life, Bruce Sullivan, they married when she was just 16, and together, they raised five wonderful children: Teresa, Mike, Danny, Tami, and Toni. Dody found immense joy in watching her family grow and loved her visits with each and every one of them. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother Don (Carolyn) Smith and Bruce Smith. Dody worked for the telephone company and later worked for Bloomfield schools as a bus driver and school nurse. After retirement she enjoyed staying home, being a grandma, and Saturday treasure hunts with her sister and best friend Joann. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her and loved her.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday March 29th at 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The family would like to say a special thank you to David Kerr and Linda Wilson for their kindness and love that they showed for our Mom and Grandma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bloomfield Senior Center.
