Doreen Mary Prado, 79, went home to be with her heavenly father on November 5, 2018. Doreen was born in London Ontario Canada to Murray and Elizabeth Thorpe. Doreen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Benjamin Prado; sons Clifford (Ena), Roger (Dolores), Lawrence (Brandi), Ralph and Karl (Kim); daughters Dona (Patrick) and Carmen (Corey); brother Bob, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, son Bennett Prado and her grandson Patrick Montoya, Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook, paint, sew, garden and dance. Doreen fought a long and courageous battle of dementia with her husband and children by her side. Doreen was blessed to spend her final days in the loving care of the Gingrich Home for the Elderly. She was a very generous and loving woman who touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. Services for Doreen are scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Blanco, NM. A rosary will be led by Deacon Pat Valdez at 9:00am and a mass will follow at 10:00am by Reverend Robert Badger. A reception will follow in the St. Rose Community Hall. Cremation has already taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date. Her care has been entrusted to Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St. in Farmington.
