Doris Lane Martin

Doris Lane Martin, 80, of Aztec, New Mexico, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on September 2, 2024, after a long battle with Leukemia.

Doris was born on January 21, 1944, in Nassawadox, North Hampton Co., Virginia. Doris was a teacher’s aide at McCoy Elementary School in Aztec, New Mexico for 30 years.

Doris is survived by her husband of 62 years, John, sons, Shane (Brianne) of Aztec, NM, Shannon (Karen) of Las Cruces, NM, sister Mary Jane Bryan, of Richmond, VA, brother Rufus Lane (Sherrie) of Richmond, VA, 2 grandsons, Dorian Martin of Farmington, NM and Dakota Martin in the U.S. Navy Stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI.

Doris was preceded in death by her father Rufus H. Lane and mother Virginia Lane, older sister Margaret Lane and baby sister Bessie Ann Gentry, all of Capeville, VA.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 700 Navajo Street, Aztec, New Mexico, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 9:30am-11:30am. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery (Patriot area), in Farmington, NM.
