Edna Earl Switzer

Mrs. Edna Earl Switzer age 97 of Farmington, NM went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday November 5, 2024. Edna was born in Croseno, Missouri on January 29, 1927, to Willard and Mary (Lewis) Furlong. Following graduation from high school she married Jack Switzer on September 14, 1946, after returning from military service. Together they raised three children and moved to Farmington, NM in 1957. 

She pursued a career as a florist with Broadway Gifts and flowers. She loved attending church and participating in church activities as well card games and dominos with her friends. Granddaughter Casie said grandma taught her to love the Lord and put a dash of salt in the coffee grounds before brewing. Granddaughter DeAnza recalls grandma teaching her how to crochet, baking cream pies and making jelly, grandma made the best Christmas fudge ever. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Jack Switzer her parents Willard and Mary and six brothers and three sisters. 

She is survived by her daughter Taunya Louise Switzer and sons Jackie Freeman Switzer and Anthony Alan Switzer. Her Grandchildren; Trey (Anita) Switzer, Casie (Greg) Barnes, Sloan (Amanda) Switzer, Dedi Switzer, DeAnza (Jordan) Frazer. Great Grandchildren; Brianna Marsden, J.T. Switzer, Alissa Switzer, Ivey (Zane) Bodin, Brenden Whitson, Kira Switzer, Juniper Switzer, Amber Greenfield, Tyler Greenfield, Alyssa Greenfield. Great Great Grandchildren; Grayson Flenner and Landen Flenner. Sister Mary Alice Simpkins and a nephew James Albert (Montie Jo) Furlong. Close family friend for over 20 years; Dennis Johnson who was amazing with Edna the last years of her life with his love and care, the family is beyond grateful. Thank you, Dennis!! Love the Switzer Family. 

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
