Emma Pompeo Weaver was called home on August 25, 2023.

Emma was born December 25, 1931, in Dawson, NM, and was the oldest daughter of Harry Sr. and Fay Pompeo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnie Weaver Sr.; parents Harry Sr. and Fay Pompeo; brothers Harry Pompeo, Jr. and Donald Pompeo; sister Viola Peterson; brother-in-law John Peterson; and her longtime friend and companion, Larry Osborne.

She is survived by her sons Johnie Weaver, Jr. (wife Candas) and Alan Weaver; grandchildren, Cara (husband Nick) Dubuisson, Cale Weaver, Christopher Weaver, and Clayton Weaver; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons; sister, Dorothy (husband Ronald) Quartieri; sister-in-law, Vonetta Pompeo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Emma married Johnie Weaver in September 1954 in Maxwell, NM and they were married until his death in 1985. Emma graduated from Maxwell High School in 1950 and worked for the Farmington School System in the Tibbits Jr. High School library for 28 years. She also sold Avon for many years.

Emma worked 60-plus years for Farmington High School Sports by keeping score, running the clock, scheduling game worker, selling concessions, and anything else that was asked of her. In her love for youth sports, she also sold concessions for the Connie Mack World Series (American Amateur Baseball Congress) for 50 years.

In 2000 she was recognized by Tibbits Jr. High School for her years of service with the dedication of the new "Emma Weaver Library" building; in 2002 she was recognized by the High School Rodeo Association for her contributions and volunteer work; and in 2013 she was inducted into the Farmington High School Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of her decades-long contribution to Farmington High School Sports.

Emma will be remembered for her love of her family, her contributions to youth sports, her generous heart, her contagious laugh, and her beautiful smile.

A graveside memorial will be held at the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, NM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Emma's life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Hills Church in Farmington, NM.
