Eric Stephen Campbell, 34, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025. Eric was born on November 5th, 1990, in Farmington, NM to parents Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Campbell and Lisa Sincher (Chavez).
Eric attended grade schools in Farmington and graduated with his diploma from Piedra Vista High School in 2009. This is where his friends would know & love him as “Noodles”. He played in Middle School and High School band where he played almost every instrument. He had a great love for marching bands and had many fond memories of his band teachers and band family.
He had numerous trades and adventures. His love for coffee took him to Starbucks for employment after high school where he met lifelong friends and developed his music songwriting. He was a special social butterfly everywhere he went and loved to interact with his customers. And although he stopped work at Starbucks, he had a great appreciation for the business. There was not a week that went by that he did not make a stop in to grab a shot of espresso and talk to old friends.
He was a man of all trades that worked in construction with his uncle Ralph and in customer service. One of his favorite jobs and past time was at Clancy’s as a server, his favorite restaurant. In 2018, he started work at Dugan Productions Inc where he worked his way up from working in the shop to most recently a field mechanic. He was a hardworking man who provided greatly for his family as he would work late, early, weekends, and on call. He caught on working in the oil field fast and found a great appreciation for the industry. He was smart on location & he crafted his skills. He loved the responsibility of having his own work truck and was proud of working in the oilfield. Just like Eric fashion, he made some great friends in his time at Dugan.
He loved to network within the community and started playing at Clancy’s on Wednesday nights for Open Mic Night. This is where he would also meet lifelong friends, fellow musicians, and his wife, Andrea. Wednesday nights on the patio brought him so much love, joy, music, laughter, and the greatest memories he held dear. He was a special person who would encourage everyone to play or sing; kids, new musicians or seasoned players. He encouraged any instruments and loved all types of music. He was often the go to “Sound guy” for these and other music events within the community. He also found a love for DJ’ing weddings, 4H dances, and other events he was invited to. He made all events special with his amazing soul singing voice and guitar-playing radio shows, art galleries, art walks, festivals, Riverfest, San Juan College, retirement parties, weddings, graduations, golf courses, dive bars, and even would find out of town gigs or open mics. He also was the front man for many special band projects but the one he held close to him was with 100 Year Flood, the band he created with his friends.
In 2015, he started dating Andrea, his friend’s sister that he was re-introduced to at patio nights. Eric and Andrea’s love story was like no other and flourished. He was the most amazing partner and husband, forever plus one, coffee date, and love of her life. They were truly each other's best friends and first loves. In 2017, they got engaged and on September 15th, 2018, they married in Durango, CO. Two months later, they would welcome their first son, Cohen James Campbell. Eric was so excited to be a dad and was the most amazing family man. He dove right in to all the dad duties and was so lovingly supportive. In 2020, Eric and Andrea welcomed their second son, Micah Grey Campbell. Eric was a provider, protector, role model, nurturer, hands on, loving, silly, and a kid at heart. He was always on the floor playing, letting them crawl on him or sitting at the kid table to eat with the kids. He encouraged the kids to always be silly and be themselves. He was so affectionate, loving, attached, and truly loved his boy so very much. He was always involved in anything that came to his family and attended all activities and would even dress up for Halloween to go trick or treating. He was the most amazing special dad and husband and always made sure to know how much he loved us.
Eric was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. You could catch him in front of the TV on game days with his Terrible Towel swinging in the air, Jerome Bettis jersey on, and yelling throughout the house. He found so much joy in the excitement him and his boys would have running around together. He loved many sports including basketball and baseball and loved to listen to sports radio and podcasts. He loved to read and found a deep connection to documentaries, conspiracy theories, and anything that caught his attention. He loved action movies. He of course loved any and all types of music. He loved anything groovey and LOVED to dance. He loved spending time with his family, his extended family, BBQ’s, and the 3rd of July. He loved to grill and had a great appreciation for food. He loved to work on his 1969 Dodge Cornet, his dad’s car that he had inherited. He loved the outdoors, the river, the mountains, traveling, amusement parks, all types of food, and coffee. He loved outdoor music and seeing his fellow musicians play. He was adventurous and spontaneous. He never had a plan when it came to having fun. He loved bookstores, music stores, and coffee shops. He was a dreamer and had so many ambitions.
He was hilarious and would light up the whole room with his laugh and dimples. He was wonderfully weird and hyper, charismatic, authentic, and like no one.
Eric was the most amazing person, son, brother, husband & best friend, father, cousin, uncle, nephew, grandson, friend. His love, soul, voice, music, and light will be so immensely missed for a lifetime. He made a great impact on everyone who knew and loved him. The greatest gift we have of him is his two boys, Cohen and Micah, who he loved and cherished, and who love and will miss him so very much. We all will.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wayne Campbell, grandparents Gilbert Campbell, Sophia Burton, Max H. Chavez, Elsie O. Chavez, and other loving family members.
Eric is survived by his wife, Andrea K. Campbell, sons Cohen James Campbell, Micah Grey Campbell, sisters Kassaundra N. Campbell, Christina D. Campbell (Kaitlyn) and a host of various loving family members.
