On July 1st, 2020, God called our son, Errick Johnson Begay, 15, of Farmington, New Mexico, to come home to be with him and his angels. Errick was born to Jeremy and Christina Begay in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 9th, 2004. Errick was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Margaret John, his maternal grandmother, Katherine Nez, his uncle, Frederick Nez, and his paternal grandfather, Johnson Begay.
Errick was a young man who loved everyone who was in his life. From the numerous relatives and friends, to the siblings he talked to everyday, he loved them all. His smile alone would brighten up a room like no other could. While he was taken much to soon, we thank God that for the times that he was with us and for the memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
Errick loved to be outdoors and would spend hours walking and exploring with his family when trips and vacations were taken. Errick loved the freedom to roam and run when he was at the family ranch at Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, and would often venture off with his siblings in search of excitement. Errick also had a love for sports, especially football when he was younger. He was an avid fan of the Arizona Cardinals and like a lot of kids, had dreams of playing on a large stage.
Errick was to be a sophomore at Farmington High School. He attended schools in Farmington his entire life, from McKinley Elementary, to Hermosa Junior High, and finally at Farmington High School. Along they way he made numerous friends and acquaintances who helped to shape his life into who he was at the time of his passing. During his time at Hermosa Middle School, Errick was a member of the football team and played safety, a position that suited him well.
Errick is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Christina Begay, and his older brothers, Jordan Madrid, Deon Begay, Donnae Begay, his twin brother Michael Begay, and his little sister, Jadyn Begay. Errick also leaves behind numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A service for Errick will be held at the River Stone Church in Farmington, New Mexico, at 10:30 am on Tuesday, the 7th of July, 2020. Errick will be laid to rest at home in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona. Our family would like to thank everyone for the words of encouragement and prayers during this time.
