Gary Jean Gallegos was born September 21, 1954 in Raton, New Mexico to
Lawrence and Mary Gallegos. He passed away March 20, 2023 at the young age of
sixty-eight while in the hospital with pneumonia. He was number seven of thirteen
children and loved by all of them. Gary was preceded in death by his paternal and
maternal grandparents, father and mother, brothers Harold, and Dennis, and sister-in- law Joanne. He is survived by his son Brandon, brothers Larry (Christina), Tom (Roxanne), Greg (Jesse), Rory, and Dale, sisters Shirley (Richard), Debra (Tim), Diane, Mary (Mike), Geraldine (Leslie), and sister-in-law Sheri. He is also survived by many

Gary loved music, especially writing his own songs. He sang at weddings and
funerals without hesitation. Gary took Karate earning a black belt. Growing up, he enjoyed camping and outings with family and was accustomed to getting hurt. Gary had many jobs and was never afraid of work, but his true calling was caring for people, especially those with disabilities. He loved the Lord and earned the nickname "Preacher Gallegos" by discipling anyone that would listen. Gary never failed to tell one of his corny jokes even though he had already told you that joke a hundred times. His smile will be remembered forever.
He has been cremated and will be buried next to his parents. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 5, 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery Farmington NM.
