Gary Wayne Smith

Gary Wayne Smith, 68, of Delta, Colorado, passed away on October 2, 2023, in Farmington, New Mexico. Gary was born on July 15, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas to parents Clinton Logan Smith & Betty Jean Venable Smith.

Gary graduated from Wichita West High School, in Wichita, Kansas in 1973; He went on to the University of Kansas in 1977 where he received his B.S. and in 1982 graduated from Montana State University with a B.S. Gary was employed by the Bureau of Land Management (Natural Resource Specialist), where he worked for over 30 years for the Federal Government. Gary also owned a farm in Colorado for over 30 years. He enjoyed working there. He enjoyed the outdoors.

Gary is preceded by his mother Betty Jean Smith.

Gary is survived by his wife Michelle Smith, sons Christopher, Gregory, and Jonathan Smith, daughter Kathleen Smith, Father Clinton Smith, and his brother Michael Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmington on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 11:00am. All Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
