Gloria Rudder

Gloria Jean "Jeannie" Rudder, 82, of Farmington, NM. passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was born April 23, 1941 in Albuquerque, NM. to Frank and Christina Garlington.

Jeannie was born in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Gallina, NM. In 1957 she met the love of her life, Danny Ray Rudder, Sr in Farmington, NM. On December 13, 1960, her and Danny married in Aztec, NM. They lived in various places until 1968 when they moved to their farm in Cortez, Colorado to raise their three children: Charlene, Danny, and Simon. In 1979, the family returned to Aztec, NM where they owned/operated the Chat n Chew in Shiprock, NM, the Aztec Restaurant in Aztec, NM and the Roadside Restaurant in Bloomfield, NM. Jeannie loved each of her employees, visiting with all the patrons at each establishment, and adored being "Granny" to nearly every child she met.

Jeannie enjoyed many hobbies, dancing, gardening, canning, sewing, crafts of just about any kind, and particularly painting. She had many fond memories of painting with her dearest friend, Wanda Coffey. Together, they had countless laughs about their painting excursions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Rudderin 1999; her parents, Frank and Christina Garlington; her brothers, Bill and George Garlington; her sister, Betty Jacques; her son-in-law, Robert Wells.

Jeannie is survived by her daughter, Charlene Wells; her sons Danny, Jr. (Cheryl) and Simon Rudder, Sr. (Dana); her grandchildren, Marsha Dunlap (Michael), Patrick Scott, James Rudder (Saejah), Casey Rudder, Shasta LePlatt (Dane), Simon Rudder, Jr. (Breanna), and Tansi Starke (Kevin); 23 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 3:30 -4:30 pm Friday, July 28th at Farmington Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 29th at Sagebrush Church in Farmington, NM. Officiated by Pastor Dane LePlatt. Pallbearers will be Danny Rudder, Jr., Simon Rudder, Sr., James Rudder, Drew Gordanier, Brad Gordanier, and Ray Hodges. Honorary Pallbearers will be Casey Rudder, Simon Rudder, Jr., Buck Garlington, Tom Easley, Shane Gordanier, and Cooper Dean. A graveside service will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery.
