Gordon N. Crane (91), of Aztec, NM, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 11, 1930, in Breen, Colorado to Harfield C. and Gertrude M. Crane. He met the love of his life, Dorcas, in 1953, at the Crane's Supermarket in Aztec. Later that year, they were married and started their precious life together. He worked several jobs over his years: selling eggs as a young boy to the family grocery store, seismic crew, butcher, oilfield lease operator, and real estate broker. Gordon was truly kind and generous. He never met a stranger, often inviting less fortunate people into their home for a meal or giving them money to get by. Gordon was a fun and loving man, always jokester, even on his last day. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Dorcas; parents, Harfield C. and Gertrude M. Crane; his brother, Morton H. Crane "Monty"; and his grandson, Gordon N. Crane III "Trey". Gordon is survived by his sisters, Madge S. Hensley, and Alice K. Hardin; sons, Gordon N. Crane, Jr. "Gordy" (Diane) and Matthew W. Crane "Matt" (Jackie); and his daughter, Candice J. Stanfield "Candi" (Rob). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua A. Crane, Krystle A. Smith (CJ), Robert O. Stanfield III "Robbie", Shelbie P. Haws (Derek), Matthew W. Crane, Jr. "Dylan", and his great-grandchildren, Jacelyn C. Smith, Clarence J. Smith, Jr. "Crue", and Drake O. Smith.
The Crane family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Crane's Roost Care Home for their outstanding care and support of Gordon for last several months.
The celebration of his life will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 17, 2022, at The Oasis Church in Farmington, with Randy Joslin officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite local charity or animal shelter.
