Harriet Ann Dame

Farmington, New Mexico

Harriet Ann Dame, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Monday, March 17th, 2025. She was born to “Tex” and LaVern Ford in San Angelo, Texas on November 9th, 1943.

Harriet earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of New Mexico. She had a successful career as an educator before discovering a new passion for decorating, which led her to establish her own decorating business. Throughout her life, Harriet was deeply involved in her community, with a special connection to Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she spent her time and energy sharing the love of Jesus.

Harriet’s love for life was evident in all she did. She enjoyed playing golf, following her husband in professional golf tournaments, water and snow skiing, table games and exploring new hobbies. She will be remembered for her infectious zest for life and her deep love for her family. Harriet shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Woody Dame. Together, they built a strong family. Harriet’s love and dedication to her two children and grandchildren was unwavering.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and a passion for living life to the fullest. Harriet’s presence will be missed, but her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Harriet is survived by her husband, Woody Dame, her children, Robyn Cole (James) of Farmington & Craig Dame (Nicole) of Texas; her sisters, Janet Coen of Kansas and Cecila Carlander of Colorado; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Cole (Danielle) of Texas, Madelynn Cole-Isais (Richard) of Hawaii, Jonathan Parker Dame (Brooke, fiancé) of Texas, Ellie Claire Cole of Farmington/Las Cruces and Preston Kole Dame of Texas; one great grandchild, Callen Layne (Cole) Isais of Hawaii; and many other loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service for Harriet will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Farmington, NM.

Honorary Pallbearers: Glen Dame, Lynn Blackwood, Stan Lanier, Cliff Perrin, Nathaniel Cole, Parker Dame, & Preston Dame.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the BeeHive Homes team that went above and beyond to provide the best care and compassion during her last years.
