Hugh Foutz

Hugh L “Hank” Foutz, 87, of Kirtland, New Mexico, passed away on October 16, 2021. Hugh was born in Fruitland, New Mexico, on July 17, 1934, to parents Elmer and Ethel Foutz.

Hugh graduated from Kirtland Central High School in 1952. He served his country during the Korean War. He loved playing golf, fishing at Vallecito and spending time with his family at his cabin. An avid sports fan, especially his BYU, Cougars. He spent his whole life on and off the reservation serving his Navajo friends. He was active in Church and Community service including 34 years as a board member of the Hower Valley Water association.

Hugh is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethel Foutz and 7 siblings.

Hugh is survived by his wife Jayne Foutz, sons Rick (Annette), Darryl (Nannette), daughter Terisha (Gregg), brothers Lloyd and Bruce (Rosemary) and sister Mildred, including 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021, at 10:30am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 473 CR 6100 in Kirtland, New Mexico. Funeral Services are to follow at 11:30am. Burial will be held at the Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery, following Funeral Services.
