Irene Marguerite Stant

Irene Marguerite Stant, 80, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on January 23, 2022.

Irene was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 11, 1941, to parents James Ovens and Chryl Ovens (Strong).

Irene attended Xavier High School in Phoenix, Arizona. She also attended San Juan College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree. She designed and created Pottery pieces. Irene had the “Bud to Bloom” Glass beadmaker patent effective 1995. She participated in numerous Bead shows in the Western United States.

Irene had a 50-year history of adopting abandoned/shelter cats and dogs.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, James, and Chryl Ovens (Strong), and brother Dennis Ovens.

Irene is survived by her husband Jack Stant Jr., son Jack Vincent Stant III, daughter Catherine Louise Burton, brothers Michael Ovens, Kevin Ovens, James Brian Ovens, Patrick Ovens, Terrance Ovens, sisters Claire M. Gendron, Janell Spencer, and Laurel Crawford, grandchildren Nyssa Marie Stant and Monica Michelle Stant.

The Family would like to thank the Beehive and Basin Home Health and Hospice for their support and care.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Farmington Animal Shelter.

Cremation has taken place and the Family has decided not to hold services at this time.
