It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Lee Bovie-Grove, who left us peacefully on February 10, 2025. Born on November 21, 1934, to Le Roy Jackson Bovie and Annabel Louise Caskey-Bovie.
Jackie was born and raised in Denver, CO where she was one of four sisters. It was there she attended West High School where she met and married Floyd D. Grove in 1953. Together they had a family and decided to relocate and moved their family to Las Vegas, NV in 1962. While Jackie’s husband Floyd worked for what became Central Telephone, Jackie worked at home as a devoted mother and housewife.
As her children grew, she decided to return to school and attended Las Vegas Beauty College to study cosmetology, receiving her license to practice as a hairdresser and cosmetician in the state of Nevada in 1970. Working and balancing home life with three growing children was trying sometimes but she managed with her family’s support. After roughly 40 plus years of a flourishing career, she decided to retire and continue on with her life as a supporting grandmother lovingly taking care of her grandchildren.
Later in life, Jackie decided to relocate once more with the purpose of being close to her eldest daughter in Aztec, NM and live out the remainder of her years. To say Jackie was sociable was an understatement, she was exceptionally outgoing, highly approachable and earnestly enjoyed connecting with others. Jackie has always made friends everywhere she goes. She has had many close friends throughout her life as people seemed to gravitate toward her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her youngest daughter, and two younger sisters.
She is survived by her son, Jason D. Grove, daughter Kim L. Grove, sister Charleen Horn, and six grandchildren as well as nephews and nieces.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends both old and new…
