James Rex Doss Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of James Rex Doss Jr. On January 9, 2025, at the age of 69, James passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. James was born October 29, 1955, to Rex King and Agnes Williams in Albuquerque, NM. In his early childhood years, his family moved to Blanco, NM where he attended Bloomfield Schools, graduating in 1974.

James leaves behind his beautiful wife of 35 years, Debi Doss along with sisters, Darlene Hunter and Velma (Irene) Foutch, children, Jesse Doss, Jerrod Doss, Aubrey Doss, Jaysen (Colette) Pinckley, Jenifer Pinckley (fiancé Adam Gurule). Grandchildren, Cozzette, Gavin, Carson, Cameron, Jalen, Sydney and Trae along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

James was an entrepreneur. As a young adult he worked for American Mud, the Powerplant and many local car dealerships. Later in life he opened his own business, James Doss Motorsports.

James was well known in San Juan County, never meeting a stranger. He will be remembered for being kindhearted and always helping the less fortunate. His sense of humor was second to none and will be missed by all who knew him.

Proceeded in death by parents, Rex King and Agnes Williams, siblings, Dolly Foutch, Thelma Field, Jane Heller, Jack Davault, Jim Davault, June Freitas, Helen Lampkin and son Cody Bokatzian.

Celebration of life will be held Spring 2025. The information will be shared at a later date.
