James Robert Gagnebin, 92, died in Farmington, NM on November 24, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1932, in Harveyville, KS to Glen Wilmott Gagnebin and Elva Eva (Blair) Gagnebin. He graduated from Cunningham, KS, high school in 1950. He then attended Southwestern College in Winfield, KS, before enlisting in the US Navy. He served in the Submarine Corps on several ships, including the USS Redfish (SS-395). After his service, he moved to Farmington, NM, where he married Neva Irma Exon on August 19, 1956. He retired as an electrician for the Farmington Power Plant. 

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elva Mae Godfrey, son Mike Lee Gagnebin and 3 grandchildren: Scott Robert Gagnebin, Kellie Waldschmidt and Derek Gagnebin.

He is survived by his wife Neva of the home, son Bob (Lisa) Gagnebin of Los Alamos, NM, and daughter Teresa (Ron) Lackey of Farmington, NM. Also, his sister Lomalyn (Doug) Bement of Front Royal, VA and 5 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.    

Per his wishes cremation has taken place with no memorial services scheduled at this time.
