James Willis (Jim) Brown, age 74 passed from this life into eternity May 24, 2024. He was a resident of Farmington, New Mexico. Jim was born December 5, 1949, in Albuquerque, NM to Maude Ann (Hutton) Brown and Robert E Brown.
Jim was a veteran, MSG E-8 having retired from the Army in 1990 after 20 years of service with many interesting assignments. A Viet Nam veteran, he loved the military and traveling with his family, enjoying the adventures to be had with each deployment. He was stationed at NATO HQ, SHAPE, Belgium for 3 years where he and his family were able to see a great deal of Europe. While in the Army he discovered his great love of teaching and following his Army retirement he taught electronics and medical equipment repair at St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, TX for 14 years, returning to Farmington 17 years ago.
James was preceded in death by his grandson, Cameron Richard Brown, parents, Robert and Maude Brown, grandparents Thomas and Paralee Hutton.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Linda D’Anne (Burkholder) Brown, his two sons, Michael James Brown (wife Kandi) and Steven Richard Brown, and his sister, Bobbie Ann (Brown) Coates. He is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Skylar Brown, Hannah Alyssa Brown, Andrew Lucas Brown, Kenzie, Kylee and Katie and a great-granddaughter Jessica Rae Brown.
Arrangements have been made through Farmington Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Jim chose to donate his body for study. When his remains have been returned there will be a memorial service at St. John’s Church on Orchard. He will be interred with military honors.
