Jayne Foutz

Jayne Marie Howe Foutz was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on May 25, 1938. She passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025.

Jayne lived in Las Vegas, New Mexico for most of her youth before she moved to Kirtland, New Mexico. She graduated from Kirtland Central High School in 1956. She married Hugh L. (Hank) Foutz on June 8, 1956 in Sante Fe, New Mexico. In their early years, they worked together managing trading posts across the Navajo reservation. In 1964, they settled in Kirtland where they raised their family and made many treasured friends. Hank and Jayne owned and operated Hank's Indian Arts and Crafts Pawn Shop for 20 years.

Jayne was a wonderful wife and mother who loved and cared for everyone. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and lived a life of service. She served for many years in the Relief Society and Young Women organizations. Hank and Jayne served as temple workers in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple for 10 years. She was a wonderful cook. Every meal Jayne made was delicious, included dessert, and a perfectly set table. She loved sewing, entertaining, and being with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her eternal companion husband, Hank and survived by her 3 children, Terisha Sherwood (Gregg), Rick Foutz (Annette), Darryl Foutz (Nannette), 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 473 CR 6100 in Kirtland, New Mexico. Funeral Services are to follow at 11:00 am. Interment is at the Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery, following the Funeral Services.
