Jeff peacefully passed from this life into our Savior's loving arms on Saturday November 12, 2022 at the Denver Swedish Medical Center, Denver CO. Jeff was born on July 10, 1960 to James Omer Manning and Verde Lavonne (Russell) Manning/Garner. He was the third son of four children. His two older brothers James & Jay and baby sister Paige, Jeff spent the early years of his life in Shiprock NM. It was in these formative years where he learned the value of hard work that was the foundation of his character. In the summer of 1971, the family moved to Kirtland, NM where new friendships were made and opportunities experienced. In Kirtland Jeff became a part of the YAFL program, Coach Higgins gave him an experience of winning and a lifetime love for football. As his football skills grew in high school, his coach Gary Ray became a mentor. Jeff loved Gary as a coach and a friend. During his high school years the sparkle in Jeff's life was Tammie Tanner, who gave him support in all his efforts. Love was sure and they married February 9th, 1979 in Kirtland NM. To this union was born four children, Amber Larkins (Dave), Amanda Moss (Brad), Markus Manning (MacKenzie Johnston) and Jerrick Manning (Kennedie Drake). In Jeff's life he accomplished his dream of being a private pilot, a successful entrepreneur owning Manning's That's A Burger, The Rock Storage and Shiprock Powerwash all located in Shiprock NM. Here Jeff developed a love and respect for the Dine' people. He enjoyed working with them, spending time with them and also enjoyed talking with them about their heritage and life experiences. A big part of Jeff's life was his 11 grandchildren: Sadie Larkins, Cooper Moss, Sophie Larkins, Emilie Larkins, Katye Moss, CJ Larkins, Dax Moss, Jace Kennedy, Olivia Moss, Blake Kennedy, & Bennett Manning. A lot of Jeff's time was spent supporting his grandchildren, at soccer games, baseball games, dance recitals, wrestling matches, & enjoyed being the taste tester for all of Sadie's baked goods and popcorn. Jeff was a devote member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a great love for the Savior and lived a life following His example. Jeff faithfully served in several leadership responsibilities. He especially cherished his time serving in the singles branch with Tammie for six years where he developed many lasting relationships. Following Jeff's passing, a scripture comes to mind as many have come forward with stories of his acts of kindness and selfless service throughout his life. Mathew 25:35-40, "For I was hungered and ye gave me meat, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was naked and ye clothed me. I was sick and ye visited me. I was in prison and ye came unto me. In as much as ye have done it unto of the least of my brethren ye have done unto me."
