Beloved husband and father Jeffrey "Jeff" Donald Riley passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of Friday, May 3. He was sixty-four. He spent his final evening in his home, sharing laughter and joy with his family.
Jeff was born June 13, 1959, in Columbus, Indiana to Donald and Alice Ann (Walterbach) Riley.
Jeff married Brenda (Lang) Riley on October 15, 1994 in Durango, Colorado during what turned out to be one of the biggest snow storms of record on that date for the area. They settled in Farmington, New Mexico and began their life together.
Jeff's greatest source of pride was his family, whom he loved fiercely. Above all, he was a provider who worked tirelessly to ensure that his loved ones were safe, warm, fed, and afforded the opportunities to thrive in life. Strangers met him as friendly and jovial; his friends knew him as snarky and quick-witted with a warm heart, and his family remembers him as sometimes stoic and dependable, but also thoughtful, tender, and kind.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda Riley; sons, David and Mark; his mother, Ann Riley; brother, Michael Riley; niece McKree and nephew Cleary, as well as many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2pm, at Bethany Christian Church, 711 E. 30th Street. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project, two causes near to Jeff's heart.
