Joan Marie Huntsman

Joan Marie Schlueter Huntsman of Flora Vista, NM passed from this life at the age of 76 on November 2, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Joan was born to Adolph and Virginia Schlueter in Sidney, Nebraska on June 12th, 1948. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1966. Joan married the love of her life, Gilbert Huntsman on February 4th, 1966, and they were married for 51 years until the time of his passing in 2017. Joan and Gilbert were almost inseparable; they did everything together. They enjoyed camping, bowling and trips to one of their favorite places, Laughlin, Nevada Joan was a homemaker; she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making holiday dinners for her family. She enjoyed being outdoors and absolutely loved to keep her yard looking nice. She took great pride in taking care of things. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Huntsman and her father Adolph Schlueter. Joan is survived by her children Shawn (Tami) Huntsman and Heather (Richard) Huntsman Ruybalid. Her Grandchildren Tyler (Samantha) Huntsman, Brenden (Farrah) Huntsman, Trenton Trujillo and Shealee Trujillo. And her great granddaughter Zia. Her mother Virginia Schlueter and her siblings, Shirley (Joe) Shelby, Donna (Carl) Rhames, Debbie (John) Mobley, Janet (Buddy)

Hopkins, Randy (Dar) Schlueter and Harold (Bliss) Schlueter. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Services for Joan will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 7455 N. Foothills Dr. Farmington, NM on Saturday November 16th at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow service.
