John Robert Eckley

John Eckley (74), of Farmington, NM, passed away August 3, 2022. John was born August 12, 1947 in Venice, CA, to parents Richard & Mary Eckley. After finishing high school, John joined the US Army. He did a one year tour in Vietnam. He went into water/wastewater management trematment. Last employment was was the City of Bloomfield. He retired December 31, 2015. John was a member of the VFW and his hobbies included model trains, motorcycles, fishing, camping, hiking, and searching for Big Foot. John was married for 55 years to his wife Jan. His love for his family and friends was second to none.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Mary Eckley, his brother, Tom Eckley, and his younger sister, M. Susan Steele, and his grandparents, Charles & Ida Eckley. John is survived by his wife, Janice Eckley, his sons, Robert Eckley and John Eckley, his brothers, his twin, James Eckley, and Richard Eckley, his sisters, Mary (Polly) Steele. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kevin Eckley, JC Eckley, Juliana Eckley, his grandchildren by marriage, Brittnie Conner, Tony Gonzales, Torri Gonzales, Nick/Alex Bradford, and his great-grandchildren, Paislee Ramirez (mom Torri) and Leighton Gonzales (mom Brittnie), and numerous nieces & nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him

A funeral service will be held August 20, 2022, at the LDS Church on Knudsen at 11:30 am.
