Johnny J. Tom

Johnny J. Tom, 74, of Aztec, New Mexico, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Shiprock, New Mexico. Johnny was born on April 1, 1951, in Keams Canyon, Arizona to parents John and Eva Tom. Johnny was born to Tabaaha and born for Hashkaan halzohi. Johny’s paternal clan is Todichiinii, and maternal clan is Totsohnii.

Johnny retired from the Coal Mine and was a lifetime Sheep and Cattle Rancher.

Johnny is preceded by his son Johnny Jay Tom, and parents John and Eva Tom.

Johnny is survived by his wife Jacquelyn Tom, son Jon-Erik Tom, daughters Alvina Arviso, Taneesha Tom, Shaunique Tom, Monique Tom, and LaCreesha Wilson, brothers Leonard Tom, Lorenzo Tom, and Dick Tom, sisters Mary Tom, Julia Chischilly, Zona Church, and Delphina Tom, and 16 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00am, at Aztec Cemetery in Aztec, New Mexico. Pallbearers to assist with graveside service are Terrance Nelson, Ty Wilson, Jody Nelson, Virgil Nelson Jr., Kamron Whitewater, and Garrett Lee Franklin Jr.
