Joseph Richard Priddy

January 2, 1948 — January 18, 2025

Bloomfield

Joseph Richard Priddy (Joe) went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Joe was born on January 2, 1948, to Gladstone England and LaVose Priddy in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father in 1982 and his mother in 2011. He is survived by his sisters Cathy Rose and Tanya Priddy who live in the Houston area. Joe was blessed with three children through his marriage to Barbara Summers Priddy (Bunke). Both sons, Lance and Chad Priddy, and his daughter Clarissa Jacobs and husband Noah Jacobs live in the Bloomfield area along with Joe’s greatest joy in life, his granddaughter Abigail Rae Jacobs. Born just 10 months prior to his passing, she brought the light of life into his final days.

Joe loved the great outdoors, motorcycle rallies and being with family and friends. He loved to spend time camping and just enjoying the majesty of the Colorado mountains. Joe worked in the oilfield industry the majority of his life as a mechanic with Dowell, Schlumberger, BJ and Baker Hughes. He was a valued employee that worked hard and loved to troubleshoot problems, thus his nickname of McGyver, given to him by his co-workers.

Joe was a faithful believer in the resurrected Jesus Christ and was glad to share his belief with others. The celebration of his life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bloomfield located at 200 West Sycamore in Bloomfield NM on February 2nd, 2025, at 2:00PM. All who would like to celebrate this special life are invited to attend. The family would like to give a special thanks to George Bunke and Cody Cowles who supported Joe and his family during Joe’s final days.
