Kevin Vess Wells

Kevin Vess Wells, aged 72, of Kirtland, NM, in San Juan County, passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2024. Kevin was the youngest child born to Leon Reginald “Mackie” Wells and Florease Elizabeth Impola. Kevin was a cherished member of his community and a pillar of strength and guidance for his family and friends. Kevin’s professional life was marked by his steadfast concern for others. He embodied the true meaning of customer service and always went above and beyond when helping his customers. Kevin was an adventurous businessman -- most recently owning both Wells Insurance Allstate and Progressive Agencies. He owned two Pronto Motor Vehicle offices. He proudly served on the Board of Directors for Four Corners Federal Credit Union. He really enjoyed raising racehorses and improving his farm. Above all, he treasured his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always had a spontaneous smile for everyone. His life was a testament to his honest, loving, caring, hardworking, intelligent, and faithful nature. Kevin was a devout believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized on August 15, 1965. He walked with Him and discipled his family. He was an ordained minister and worked in several churches over the years as a music director and youth pastor. He was the Student Union leader at San Juan College for many years. Kevin enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and he loved the students and leading Bible studies.  

Kevin is survived by the love of his life and spouse of 54 years, Joy Giovengo, his son, Erik Wells, and his daughter, Serena, and husband, Eric Meyer. Kevin had four grandchildren that he loved and cherished Emma and Madyson Meyer, and Joseph and Joshua Wells. He is survived by three siblings: Lorrie (Tom) Willis, Arvis (Rachel) Wells, and Bonnie Huber as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Mackie and Florease Wells.

His legacy of love and devotion will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. 

Visitation with the family will be Saturday October 12, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00, followed by a celebration of Kevin’s life at 11:00 am from Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St., Farmington, NM. Interment will follow services at Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery
