Kristin Heath-Morris

Kristin Heath Morris of Farmington, NM passed into eternal life on March 27th 2023 and now rests in the arms of her Savior. Kristin was born in Winslow, AZ on November 14th 1967 and spent the first 13 years of her life in Dilcon, AZ where her parents, Donovan and Carolyn Heath, were educators. She moved to Farmington, NM in 1980 and completed her education at Hermosa Jr. High and Farmington High School. After graduation she moved to Phoenix, AZ to attend Grand Canyon College, where she majored in English Literature and vocal performance. During her undergraduate work she toured Europe with Grand Canyon Choir and bravely ventured to work and study abroad in London, England. She graduated from GCC with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. In 1990 she married Russell Morris in Hesperus, CO and they opened an antique store in downtown Farmington, NM the same year. In 1994 they moved to Portales, NM where Kristin completed her K-12 licensure and her master's degrees concurrently and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern New Mexico University. During the same period, she taught English at the university and gave birth to her sons, Elijah and Seth. After graduation, she taught English and coached the speech and debate team at Portales High School for two years. In 1998 they returned to Farmington where Kristin taught for three years at Northeast Elementary School. Although she would go on to teach English at San Juan College as well as education classes for Highlands University, in 2000 she gave birth to her daughter, Emille and made the most important career move of her life when she decided to educate her three children at home. For all her accomplishments and experiences, Kristin most valued being a mother to her children.

Kristin will be remembered for her incredible intelligence, creativity, humor, and concern and love for others. Above all she will be remembered for her breadth of knowledge of the Bible and her absolute and steadfast love for Christ.

Kristin is survived by Russell Morris, her children, Elijah Morris and wife, Rylee and their three children, Juniper, Jude, and Judge of Farmington, NM; Seth Morris and his wife, Libby of Farmington, NM; daughter, Emille of Phoenix, AZ; parents, Donovan and Carolyn Heath of Farmington, NM; and brother, Devin Heath and wife, Rebecca of Lawrence, KS.

A celebration of Kristin's life will be held Saturday April 8th at 10:00 am at Sagebrush Church, 1501 Sunrise Parkway, Farmington, NM.
