Larry was an ordained minister. He pastored the Desert Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Bloomfield. Larry was a teacher for 37 years, both in Texas and New Mexico. He showed great respect for his student's ideas and thoughts and in return they showed the same towards him. Larry loved to ride his horse (Ladybug). He enjoyed going riding with his older brother Kenny. They could spend days at a time riding and lying to each other; Not sure which one could tell the biggest stories! He enjoyed talking to his brother Richard. The good times he spent with younger brother Lyle and baby sister Dalene were times to remember. They could get each other telling tales on each other that had everyone laughing. Larry had a special place in his heart for his 6 grandchildren, 4 boys and 2 girls. Larry loved working with Leather. His projects were many, from making chaps, book covers and more.
Larry is preceded by his parents Kenneth Dale Guffey, and Ilene Patricia Guffey, grandparents Jack and Naomi Guffey, and Marion and Florence Keeler.
