Leanna Cecilia Florez, 24, of Bloomfield, NM was taken home to eternally rest on October 29, 2022. Leanna was a beautiful, loving, and humorous daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend to many.
Leanna was born on May 10, 1998, in Farmington, NM to Carlos M. Florez and Lori A. Chavez. Leanna graduated from Bloomfield High School in 2016. She attended New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019. Leanna was employed at American Equipment Manufacturing as an Engineering Assistant, a job which brought her joy, satisfaction, and a feeling of belonging.
Leanna loved to be around her family and friends. She could walk into any room and instantly light it up with her vibrant personality. She could make anyone laugh, whether it be intentional or not, she could always bring a smile to those around her. She was so strong, resilient, and a ball of fire. She was passionate about taking pictures of every moment that was important to her and developed a hobby of professionally capturing photographs. Leanna found peace in listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
Leanna is loved by so many and will be forever missed. Leanna you will always be in our hearts, and we can’t wait for the day we meet again.
Leanna is survived by her parents, Carlos M. Florez (Michelle A. Florez), and Lori A. Chavez (Mario Marin); siblings, Alissa G. Florez, Joshua M. Florez, Eliese M. Aranda, Deanna M. Aranda, Carlos M. Florez Jr., and Araelia O. Florez; Grandparents, Steve and Dolores Florez, Ramona Chavez, and Florence Florez (Great-Grandparent). Leanna was preceded in death by her brother, Francisco A. Martinez; Grandparent, David G. Chavez; Great-Grandparents, Jose M. Florez, Paul A. and Maria M. Valencia, and Chris and Vera Prespentt; Uncle, Emilio M. Florez; and Cousin, Kaytie C. Florez. Leanna also left behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives whom she loved deeply.
A Rosary will be recited for Leanna at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 7378 US-64 in Blanco, NM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Blanco followed by an Interment at the Santo Nino Cemetery in Gobernador, NM officiated by Father Josh Mayer. Reception to follow Interment at St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall.
Pallbearers: Joshua Florez, Joseph Florez, Richard Florez, Luke Florez, Jesus Marin, Kyle Candelaria. Honorary Pallbearers: Alissa Florez, Eliese Aranda, Deanna Aranda, Kayla Jaquez, Rebecca Florez, Serena Montoya, Donovan Armenta, Thomasluke Florez-Mansi, Francine Sanchez, and Johanna Perez.
